Believer's STAND-UP: performed by SaadImam

 As salaamu alaykum,
My very first stand-up with all original material. Some jokes are readily understood by Muslims but most are faith-neutral. I plan to do more bi-idhnillah. Please be kind but honest in your comments so that I may improve.

asalamualikum warahamtullahi wabarakatu, it was pretty coool. To be honest, the laughing part after every statement was a little awkward, everything else was good alhumdolilah!

Wa alaykum As Salaam,
Shukran for your comments. Usually that aspect is drowned out by audience response. Inshaa Allah I will consider your advise in future projects. Allahu Ma'ak.

Assalaamu alaikum waramatullaahi wabarakatu, I liked it overall.
I do think laugh tracks would have helped or maybe you should sharpen the act, add more material and perform "LIVE" and get the real laughs. I'll buy a ticket.

Was Salaamu alaykum,
The consensus is that I should have used laugh tracks. Inshaa Allah from now on I will or (as you say) actually perform in front of a live audience. No one actually "arrives" as a comedian until they "bomb" ...
lol.

One thing I noticed, which can improve your set, is you need to have properly placed and timed pauses in your routine. If you study all the 'great' stand up comics, such as Dave Chapelle, Preacher Moss, Eddie Murphy, etc. you will notice there are pauses in the right place and time to allow people to (1) laugh and (2) to grasp the punch line.

Asalaamu `alaikum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatu. Haha masha-Allah bro I got some laughs out of that one, especially the bacon joke. I guess I would just reiterate the suggestions about pausing, and using that laugh track. Also, looking at some other comedians - it has helped, with some at least, when they are moving around a little more sporadically. That's all I can think about, but mashaAllah I can see things improving alot for future works inshaAllah, can't wait for the next ones.
